  3. Brief Introduction History of Hawaii: Between 1778 and 1898, Hawaii was called Sandwich Island. It was merged in United States in 1898. It became the fiftieth state in the US in 1959. Another name: Aloha state. Meaning: The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.

Brief Introduction Hawaii is the only state of the United States that: • It is not geographically located in North America. • It grows coffee. • It is completely surrounded by water. • It is entirely an archipelago. • It has a royal palace. • It does not have a straight line in its state boundary.

  14. AlohaAnd Garland Aloha is native language. It can be explained to 'welcome' and 'hello'. What's more, aloha can also represent ‘I love you'. Hawaiian always bring garlands with them. When Hawaiian meet acquaintances or guests, they will put a garland around guests’ necks.

  15. Other customs When you are enjoying food, you’d better share food with one who sits next to you to show politeness, regardless of whether you are familiar with him or her. If parents in Hawaii want to give children a lesson, they will kick children’s kneecap instead of taking children over their knees. Hawaiian believe head is very sacred. Touching other’s head means offence and disrespect.
