About • Us • Who we are • Berwick Partners is a division of Odgers Berndtson operating in the senior leadership recruitment market. We operate a 100% retained search model within the £70,000-£120,000 basic salary bracket and believe we stand out in a congested market by offering a quality and client-led service. • This is a market which we believe is poorly serviced by the contingent players with their volume based approach, and traditional search firms with their focus on board positions. • We are a national firm with offices in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester. We collaborate and work closely with Odgers Berndtson, benefiting from their brand and reputation. We share a database, offices, events and away-days. We also benefit from their brand, reputation and work. This relationship means that for business development purposes, we are not a cold call environment. • What we offer • At Berwick Partners, we have created a mature and “grown-up” culture, one where you are trusted to deliver without weekly targets and sales incentives. We provide our consultants with a huge amount of support to enable them to be as effective as possible. Support comes in the form of: • Dedicated PA • In-house Research Team • Events Executive • Marketing Executive • Client Development Team • How we work • Berwick Partners has built an excellent reputation for filling senior management and executive positions across a number of different sectors. We have split our market into three main areas, Commerce & Industry, Public Sector and Functions. • This split lays the foundation for our 18 different practices and we are always open to expanding into new areas. We believe that this structure offers clients the opportunity to tap into sector specialists and functional experts as the mandate dictates.
The • Opportunity • Over the last eight years, Berwick Partners has built a strong reputation amongst senior HR professionals, which has been achieved through the work of both the HR team and colleagues in other practice areas. • With ambitious growth plans to build on this success we now seek to expand the HR practice by recruiting an established consultant to join the team. The successful candidate will be an experienced professional, with the confidence to win and transact retained business. • The mandates we typically handle are the “hard-to-fill” roles. It’s not an HR Business Partner for a Blue Chip company, it is more likely to be a FTSE 250/Owner Managed Business or SME looking for their first HR Director; needing advice, support, challenge and consultative approach to their assessment. • We challenge the brief, the role profile and we ensure that remuneration packages are built to secure the right hire at the right level. We believe what we do matters. • This role has a national remit and could be based from any of our offices and report into Basil leRoux, Partner and Head of HR Practice. • Personal Attributes • Confident, self-assured, tenacious and a self-starter • Able to operate with pace, make decisions and move relationships & assignments forward appropriately • Self-managed, you will know what it takes to develop your personal brand and position both internally and externally, without the need for heavy KPIs • Lead by example, act as an Ambassador and uphold the culture, philosophy, integrity, quality, professionalism and ethics of the Berwick Partners brand • Commercial Activity • Develop relationships with clients (new/existing) through high level marketing calls, offering market intelligence, cross selling through and with Odgers Berndtson and Odgers Interim, presenting at pitches and business development meetings, and actively introducing colleagues • Listen to and interpret client requirements, developing commercially sound solutions in line with the Berwick Partners offering and our Terms of Business • Professionally manage and deliver all assignments won, to successful completion • Drive account management and support the development of key accounts. Identifying clients to target, network and develop on behalf of the brand with the view of creating high levels of continued work; expanding client relationships that further develop the firms offering • Create, develop and deliver events that offer clients and senior candidates the opportunity to network, whilst promoting and developing the Berwick Partners brand in the ‘right way’ • Develop a personal profile both internally and externally, through effective relationship building as well as via LinkedIn, Twitter and other social media tools (blogs etc.) ensuring that you become a recognised go-to/respected recruiter in your specialism • Producing quality written documents that are in-keeping with the expectations of the greater OB and BP brands • Be proactive – suggest new ways of improving processes and systems, better assignment management and overall methodologies
