Gender Discrimination IN CONTEXT of PAKISTAN & AFGHANISTAN Basic Needs (Education, Health, Economic independence etc) Education Girls Education is discouraged by society. Health In rural Areas and especially border areas of Pakistan & Afghanistan. Women visit to Ziarat or Pir (religious leaders) for cure instead of Doctors. Economic Empowerment: Restriction by family Elders .
Gender Discrimination IN CONTEXT of PAKISTAN & AFGHANISTAN Basic Needs (Education, Health, Economic independence etc) Awareness No awareness is provided to women regarding Education, gender, HIV/AIDS, maternal & child health etc Right of Vote Women are not allowed to use their right of VOTE. In some place community elders announce such decisions on media Access to Justice Women & children have no access to justice. Mostly what the family elder decides is the final decision.

JPI Research on Informal Justice System in Pakistan A Little Book on Restorative Justice System in context of Pakistan & Afghanistan Towards Understanding Pakhtoon Jirga. Book on Informal Justice System in Pakhtoon Society. Research was funded by USIP Who learns from whome? Pakhtoon Traditions in Modern Perspective. Recently JPI in collaboration with UNICEF, UNDP and UNIFEM has initiated a “RESEARCH STUDY ON INFORMAL JUSTICE SYSTEM IN PAKISTAN”
