Strategic Plan • Facilitate research, publication and dissemination of research results on LIS education and curriculum. • Facilitate collaboration and networking: organize events to create opportunities to bring members together to discuss developments, challenges, and solutions regarding LIS education. • Develop and foster cooperation and collaboration with members, partner institutions and other associations and organizations, such as iSchools, UNESCO, IFLA, EBLIDA, ALISE, national associations, etc.
Action Plan 1. Increase number of members • Reach out to both previous members for membership renewals and all the other LIS schools/departments for membership. • Extend the membership to LIS schools outside Europe as well as expand it to the organizations which support LIS education and research, such as libraries and other associations.
Action Plan 2. Conduct following activities • Organize an international conference on LIS education and make it a bi-annual event. First conference will be held in 2016 to commemorate 25 years of EUCLID. Conference proceedings will be published. This publication is intended to be a review of LIS education in Europe. • Develop a members’ database. • Create an e-archive for conference proceedings.
Action Plan 3. Increase visibility of EUCLID by • Re-designing, improving and updating the existing EUCLID website. • Publishing EUCLID Newsletter twice a year and distributing it widely. • Publishing annual reports, Council Meeting minutes and Board Meeting minutes on the website for transparency. • Having a logo designed for creating institutional identity.
Action Plan 4. Continue to support BOBCATSSS in all possible ways. 5. Develop effective communication strategies formembers. 6. Provide sound and transparent fiscal management.
What can be Done? • A survey of LIS schools • A conference on LIS education • Survey results can be presented and discussed • Country representatives can be invited to make presentations about the current state in their countries • A publication can come out (2nd edition of European Curriculum Reflections on LIS Education) – (Proceedings Book) • Further collaboration opportunities can be disscussed • Collaborative initiatives can start
