What is Annual Giving and Endowment? • Annual Giving - Engage sustainers and active members toward annual projects and objectives. • Endowment – Interest on funds is used to supplement operating budget. • Your donations allow us to continue our work with Bloom Boutique, Noogiefest, Urban Garden, and other important initiatives.
Ways to Donate • Online – link on your home page • Tonight with check or credit card • Remember – a $100 donation fills one of your fundraising credits!
Goals • Last year we raised just over $15,000, with around 40% of the league participating. • This year, our goal is $20,000 with an increase in members participating! • We have 100% Board participation!

Categories to Avoid • Jewelry, Furniture, Artwork • The stats do not support jewelry, most 30-60% yield. These are all subjective categories • Bring in items with broad appeal • Be cautious of business services • Attorneys services, doctor, dentists, professional services. Services don't sell well • Home decor, clothing • Electronics are great and you can use them in a raffle, but they need to be cutting edge.

Why do people give? • People give because they are asked. • Because the right person asks….warm connection, feel accountable to the person. They won't tell you no. • Peer Pressure, some people give because they know their peers give. • Guilt • Because some people care about what is going on in their community

What is FSH? • Family Scholar House is changing lives, families and communities through education • FSH mission: to end the cycle of poverty by giving single-parent students the support they need to earn a four-year college degree
What does our committee do? • Cooking Classes for the FSH parents (twice monthly) • Children’s Book Club (monthly) – NEW!!
