  3. Childcare @ Johnson Elementary • Tues. Oct. 29, Nov. 5 • Thurs. Oct. 24, 31, Nov. 7 • 6-8:40pm (3 volunteers per day) • Parent/Teacher Conferences • Tues Nov 5th and Thurs Nov 7th • 4-6pm and 6-8pm (5-6 per shift)

  4. ESSE Pancake Breakfast • When: Sat. Nov. 9th • 7am-11am (8 Spots) • 11am-1:30pm (6 Spots) (Clean Up) • Where: St Paul Lutheran Church • (515 S.Wheaton Ave. Wheaton) • What: Table serving, selling raffle tickets, helping in the kitchen.  • Don’t wear pants with holes!

  5. Madison Multicultural Day • When: Thurs Nov 14th 4pm-5pm (15 Spots) • Where: Madison Elementary School (1620 Mayo Ave. Wheaton) • What: Decorating classrooms for multicultural day with parents. A quick, easy hour!

  6. NAMI Boxes • When: Sometime this week (2 volunteers) Make a time after school with the NAMI office. • Where: NAMI DuPage • 2100 Manchester Road, Building B, Suite 925 • Move boxes from the 5K at the NAMI office. See Miss Angelillo if interested.

  7. OLD EVENTS

  8. “Lend Me a Tenor” Show Ushering • When: Thursday - Nov. 14 - 6:30pm (Full) Friday - Nov. 15 - 6:30pm (3 Spots) Saturday - Nov. 16 - 6:30pm (Full) • Ushers shirts will be supplied. Each usher should wear either black or khaki pants - no shorts, sweats or jeans • Expect to stay ½ an hour after the show ends

  9. Fall Fest in Warrenville(6 SPOTS OPEN) • When: Thursday Oct 24th for decorations 230-6pm (Full) Friday Oct 25th to work fest 530-930pm (6 SPOTS OPEN) • Where:   Warrenville Park District 3s260 Warren Ave • What: Running games, craft room and serving food in the concessions. Please dress for the weather because it is both inside and outside. Feel free to dress up if you would like in costume!

  10. Cheaper By the Dozen Play (15 SPOTS OPEN) • When: Oct 28, 29, 30. Nov 1, 2, 8, 9 (6-9pm) and Nov 3 and 10 (2-5pm) • Where: Warrenville Community Building, 3s240 Warren Avenue in Warrenville • What: Ushering for the show, keeping kids occupied back stage via coloring, board games, etc. There is a dog in the show.

  11. Halloween Happening Naperville • When:    Sun. Oct. 27th (12-5pm) UNLIMITED • Where:   Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, 500 W. Jackson Ave, Naperville • What:     Set up games and run the games while the participants stroll through the different areas.  Please come in costume, that is not scary and is child friendly.  The typical participants are 1-5 year old children.  Refreshments are served to the volunteers after the event. 

  12. Pumpkin Decorating and S’Mores(1 SPOT OPEN) • When:    Sat. Oct. 26th (8-10 Spots/shift) • (10-11:15am) 1 SPOT OPEN • (12-1:15pm) • Where:   Seager Park, 1163 Plank Road,  Naperville IL • What: Please dress for the weather. Welcome guests, decorate pumpkins, do crafts, play games with the participants, take pictures of the participants, help with s'mores, set up and clean up after the event is expected of all volunteers. • Who: Naperville Park District

  13. Halloween Extravaganza! (3 SPOTS) • When: Friday, October 25, 2013, 6:00pm – 9:00pm 5 SPOTS LEFT • Where: B.R. Ryall YMCA of Northwestern DuPage County (49 DeickeDrive, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137) • 20 Volunteers Needed • What: Face painting, pop corn machines, pumpkin decorating table, games ,monster hand craft, etc. • ALL VOLUNTEERS NEED TO PICK UP AND FILL OUT FORMS!!!

  14. Dick Pond Hot Cocoa 5k and 8 mile Run/Walk (FULL) • When: October 27 • Where: Danada Forest Preserve, Wheaton(Start/Finish: Danada Exercise Track) 4 vols – Pre/post race water handouts -6:30-10 AM 6 vols– Course Marshalls. 6:30-9 AM 8-10 vols – Handout water during race 6- 9 AM3 vols – Finish Line Food 6:30-10 AM WE NEED THE JACKET SIZES OF ALL VOLUNTEERS!!!!!!!

  15. AAUW Book Drive • 1 Hour/couple of books • That means more than 3! • What You Can Donate: Chapter books, picture books, etc. NOT textbooks, audiobooks, or CD’s. • Due By: Nov. 13th

  16. School Supply Donation (NEW!) • Glue sticks • Sharpened pencils / NOT mechanical • Student-size scissors • Colored pencils • Donations to 117 (Miss Angelillo’s Room) • Ends Nov 22nd (T-giving Break)

  17. Long Term Events • PADS- 5-10 volunteers • First Monday of the Month (next one is Nov 4th) • 530-8pm @ Wheaton Episcopal Church • Set up beds for overnight guests and serve meals • Flexible on time if you have to leave early • Lincoln Students Tutoring – 10 volunteers • 20-25 elementary students working on homework. Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1753 S Blanchard, each Tuesday 6:30-7:30 PM.

  18. Long Term Events • Connection of Friends - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3-6, and Saturday nights from 6-9 • Power Hour Tutoring – Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the Edison LLC from 3:10-4:20pm (2 needed) • WDSRA – Info meetings: 10/1, 11/5, 6:30pm – 8:00pm; WDSRA Office (Boardroom) , 116 N. Schmale Rd; Carol Stream, IL. 60188 • Peoples’ Resource Center • See us if interested
