Founded in 1993 as an independent non-profit, 501(c) (6) Organization. 16 member Board of Directors representing Clearinghouse stakeholders– colleges, guarantors, lenders, and servicers. Our original mission was to act as the central repository and single point of contact for the timely exchange of student enrollment records between colleges and student loan administrators. Our current and expanded mission is to serve as the central repository and single point of contact for the collection and timely exchange of accurate, comprehensive student records. Post-Secondary institutions appoint the Clearinghouse as their agent, making us responsible for student enrollment reporting activities they had previously conducted themselves. 2,800 schools, representing 91% of the nation’s enrollment provide enrollment data on all enrolled students. Data is provided about once a month. Data reported includes: name, birthdate, ssn, enrollment status (full-time, etc.), effective date of status, address, school of attendance, expected graduation date, term begin and end date, etc. The Clearinghouse maintains current and/or historical enrollment records for over 75 million students. Post-Secondary institutions appoint the Clearinghouse as their agent, making us responsible for verifying their graduates’ degrees to employers and others. 1,075 schools representing 55% of the nation’s enrollment provide degree conferral data to the Clearinghouse. A historical file of all degree data maintained electronically by the school is provided at the school’s initial participation and is updated as new degrees are conferred. Data reported includes: name, birthdate, ssn, school conferring degree, degree title, date of award, major, minor, honors, etc. The Clearinghouse maintains degree records for 11 million students. Allows Researchers to tap into Clearinghouse’s database of 60 million current and former students. You identify the cohort– name , ssn, and DOB. We respond with a data file.
