Warm-up Introduce the second semester protocols and classroom expectations.
Restroom/Water • You will receive three restroom/water passes per six weeks. • Just because you have a restroom pass does not mean you will be allowed to use the restroom. • Use them wisely. • In order to use the restroom you must: • Be actively working in the class • Be in dress code • Wear a Student ID
Test • We will take a test every two weeks. • Your parent/guardian will be expected to sign the test reviews. • There will be at least three short answer questions on every test.
Seating Charts • There will be a required seating chart for each class period. • They will change if needed. • You may not switch seats or walk around during class unless you are asked to by the teacher.
Tutoring • Morning tutoring • Tuesday and Thursdays • 7:30 – 7:55 • Afternoon tutoring is by appointment. • No afterschool tutoring on Tuesday or Thursday. I have STALL practice. • If I am staying after school, it is because I have work. Unless you have made an appointment with me, please do not come into the classroom.
Journals • You must have a journal everyday. • If you do not have your journal you will complete the assignment on a sheet of paper and then transfer the assignment into your journal. • If you lose your journal you will need to replace it. You will also need to make up any assignments that had not been graded. • Be responsible!!
Journal DO NOTS • DO NOT skip pages. We will use every front and back of every page in your second semester composition book. • DO NOT at any time tear out pages of your composition books. This will unravel your book! • DO NOT write in anyone’s composition book other than yours! Consequences will be an office referral.
Journals • You are only allowed to write in your journal. • Leaving notes, drawing, or defacing another students journal is grounds for a referral.
Journals • Glue the composition book label in the front of the journal. • Write your name on the front of the journal (on label) and all sides of the journal.
Journal Set up • The first three pages of your journal will be the Table of Contents. • Title the pages • Write the Table of Contents front and back
Journals • On the next blank page, after your Table of Contents, Write the date 1/21 on the top left corner of the page • Write #1 on the top right corner of the page • Title the page “Metzger Rules”

Journals • One the fourth page you will place the sticky note as a tab. • On the sticky note write “Texas in the Civil War and Reconstruction” • Place the sticky note at the top of the page. • Then write the same title across the page. You may decorate this title page
Journals • Go to the back of your journal. • From the back of the journal, count ten pages forward. • Place the second tab on this page. Title it “TOOLS” • You may decorate this page as well.
Journals • In the tools section of your journal glue in the following pages: • PEGS • PEGS PICTURE FRAME • TACOS • BLANK TACO • CARS
