2. Welcome to our company ! • We want to ensure that our employees have the right skills in order to succeed in our company. • You will be trained in four different skills. • We hope you enjoy and learn from program! • Good Luck!

3. The Problem…. • Most people don’t meet the qualifications we need in our company. • The skills that are key in the production of our company are team building skills, communication skills, creativity and critical thinking skills. • We need to correct this problem so we don’t slow down production. • Our company we lose money, because people lack skill we need.

4. Welcome to our guided program to improve work skills! • We must have well-trained employees. • We will be teaching you the fundamentals of each skill. • It’s a 4-week program to help explain and teach each skill. • Week one- Communication skills • Week two- Team Building Skills • Week three- Creativity • Week four- Critical Thinking Skills

5. Communication Skills • Skills that enable people to talk and exchange ideas. • Without it, there would be no interacting between people or anything for that matter. • It’s the key in any situation given because it involves having some type of contact with whomever it is that you are working with.

6. Communication Scenario & Activity • Suppose there is a person in the company working on stocks if they don’t know how to communicate with their co-workers, then the information can’t be passed down which will cause a chain reaction within the company. • Four days out of the week they will attend public speaking classes. At the end of the classes they will be assigned to do a presentation involving a scenario where you have to convince another company of starting a partnership with us.Each person will be graded on how well they communicate, supporting their ideas and giving positive comments.

7. Activity Outcome • We wish to accomplish helping our employees improve on the way they interact with one another, if their skills get better then, when they need to communicate or exchange information there isn’t going to be any confusion because everything will be understood and no mistakes will be done.

8. Team Building Skills • A major element to the workplace. • Each employee of a successful company works together, to create new plans for the company and ideas. • Without team building skills, it’s hard for a company to succeed. • They don’t get work done quickly, and all their ideas are everywhere and the ideas are unorganized.

9. Team Building Scenario & Activity • Say if one person in the field of our company doesn’t exactly know what they are doing, with team building skills they can all combine ideas together to form one that might actually improve the company. They may elaborate or feed off of each other’s ideas which in the long run just add successful outcomes within the company. • You will be given assigned groups. There will be scenarios and you must come up with solutions. • You will be graded on: • Communication • Effort • Creativity • Team Work

10. Activity Outcome • We want our employees to help one another. • Come with great ideas to share to your co-workers. • Combine those ideas to create one successful idea for a successful company!

11. Creativity • Creativity helps you come up with ideas. • Always ‘think outside the box.’ • Always catch a person’s attention with creativity. • Consider every idea to be useful. • Creativity is important in a workplace because… • You can advertise and promote new products • Catch the customer’s attention • Persuade them to buy the product

12. Creativity Scenario & Activity • Suppose we have created a new product to sell. In order for the product to be successful you as an employee must come up with an advertisement! You must grab the customers attention. • You will be assigned a partner (remember to also use your team building skills!) Elaborate ideas and create an advertisement that will be able to sell our product.

13. Activity Outcome • Be able to promote new products. • Think outside the box. • Use team building and communication skills to help boost your skill in creativity. • Exchange ideas with your co-workers • And most of all! Grab your customer’s attention.

14. Critical Thinking • Critical thinking involves skillfully applying, synthesizing, and evaluating information. • Think of what you can do to make your company more successful. • Come up with ways to improve financially and appearance of your company. • You must concentrate and focus on a scenario that will either affect your company in a good or bad way.

15. Critical Thinking Scenario & Activity • When a company needs ideas for new products it involves critical thinking. • You need to think thoroughly about how it might affect different things. • All these questions require depth in the idea that is why critical thinking is absolutely necessary in a company. • We are a toy company we need minds that expand and pay attention to every small detail.

16. Activity Outcome • We hope this activity will enable the employees to think more in depth about their ideas. • Our employees are expected to learn how to focus on the task given and elaborate much more on it then just a short answer.

17. Overall Outcome • Overall we want our employees to be successful in these four skills. • Knowing each skill, will get you to a higher position in your job • You have qualities that most companies are looking for. • You will gain knowledge and skills from this program. • Our company will become successful, because of the skills you obtain.
