  2. HOW TO PRODUCE GOOD QUALITY OF COCOONS • QUALITY LEAF • QUALITY SEED • HEALTHY CHAWKI • EFFICIENT REARING MANAGEMENT

Quality Leaf Production • Cultural Operation as per crop schedule. • Use of compost, biofertilizer and chemical fertilizer as per soil condition • Use of slow releasing nitrogenous fertilizer should be preferred to avoid leaching. • Phosphatic fertilizer should be used for chawki plots. • To maintain nutrient quantity in leaf Nitrogen fertilizer should be used before 2nd crop • Irrigation • Leaf plucking at Govt. farm & farmer level should be prepared.

  4. Quality Seed • Efficient Management of P1 rearing • Sorting of cocoon's • Strict testing of larvae & moth

  5. Healthy Chawki Rearing • Proper disinfection & hygiene • Proper incubation of silkworm egg's • Avoid sizing • Control of RH & temperature

  6. Rearing Management • Assessment of available leaf • Proper disinfection of rearing house & rearing equipments • Hygiene condition of rearing houses • Proper spacing & timely clearing of silkworm bed • Use of bed disinfactant
