ESS Group Advisement • Practicum Dates & Times • 3-6: Thursday, February 28th – Wednesday, March 27th • Entire school day, Mon-Fri (8-3 *depending on school) • School will be assigned
ESS Group Advisement • Fall Registration Updates • Student Teaching • Students will choose their own school district when they register. • Liaisons choose school placement. • No Provo for Fall 2013 • No priority registration (Except Houston & Texas) • Registration opens at 12:00 am, Wednesday, April 3rd. • Internship Registration • Once an internship has been awarded, students will be sent an email detailing the application process with the Internship Office through IRAMS (Internship Registration and Management System) • ESS will review & approve the IRAMS application, and then sends it back to the Internship Office. • The Internship Office will then clear student of internship registration (El Ed 496R) • Students must have a current Ecclesiastical Endorsement for 2013-2014 school year before being allowed to register.

ESS Group Advisement • Internship TESOL Options (Washington DC) • Requirements: Observation, Interview, CaseStudy, MSDLA (Centers), & ReflectionforChange • Spring/Summer • 4 credits TELL 477R • Best option – complete all requirements. • Migrant children day school. • 2 credits TELL 477R • Complete: Observation, Interview, & Case Study in ESL classroom (here or at home). • Register for 2 credits in Fall. Complete MSDLA & Reflection. • Fall • Register for 4 credits TELL 477R • Qualifying classroom – Complete requirements in Winter. • Not qualifying classroom – Must compete observation, interview, and case study after hours in an after school ESL setting.

ESS Group Advisement • Graduation Approval • Submit Application • ESS reviews & indicates outstanding requirements. • ESS sends email with grad info & instructions. • Reply to email stating you have read & understand info. • ESS approves application after reply. • Request to Walk • Commencement ceremonies are only in April & August • Dec 2013 grads can walk in Aug 2013 or April 2014 • Dec grads’ names will be in the April program. • Jun 2014 grads can walk in April 2014 or Aug 2014. • Interns (June graduates) in McKay School program for ceremony they desire to walk in. • Request to Walk forms & questions meet with ESS advisor.
ESS Group Advisement • Licensure • LiveText • CDS (Candidate Disposition Scale) – FED (Field Experience Demographic) - TWS (Teacher Work Sample) • Praxis • ESS must have official copy of “passed” Praxis score report. • Fingerprints • Must have current background check with USOE at time of graduation & licensure recommendation. • Graduation Posted to Transcript • ESS cannot recommend students for licensure until degree is posted to the transcripts. • All requirements must be completed for degrees to be posted. • If requirements are not completed by the final posting, then graduation will be deferred to the next term. • Recommendation to the state w/ Endorsements • ESS email • Student completes process with state.
