The Wish ListEoinColfer2003Fiction Emily C. Period 2
Setting • Heaven- it’s a crack before dawn , a door shaped hole appears in the sky. It’s a little blury, but its very bright.
Conflict • The conflict is that Meg has to do enough good things or she can not go to heaven. A man gives her a list of good things to accomplish so she can go to heaven.
Summary of Plot • Meg has no money and has to help belch rob this apartment. When it ends up in disaster, Belch goes to hell and Meg gets stuck in the middle. A man gives her a list and tells her to do everything on the list and she will get to go to heaven.
Theme • Always try your hardest cause bad things will catch up to you. • Text Evidence 1: “I might go to hell?” • Text Evidence 2:”You need to complete this list to make up all the bad things you have done so you can go to heaven. • Text Evidence 3: “I remember all of the things you have done last year.”
Point of View • It might not show emotions as well with this point of view. It will be harder to imagine because the character does speak with this point of view.
Symbolism • The devil represents hell because he is evil and bad because when your bad like that you go to hell. • When Meg helps and completes the wish list for the man that represents that she is a good person.
Recommendation • The wish list is a good book to read. It has action and adventure . Its about a teenager who dies in a gas explosion who must earn her place to go to heaven. A man gives her a list of things to complete. If she doesn’t complete all off them she will go to hell
