Plot Overview • Crash and Penn met in their neighborhood when they were 6 years old and Penn saw Crash digging a hole outside. Penn came over to talk to Crash. • Penn invites Crash over to his house for dinner. Crash saw that Penn's parents were vegetarians and had the food he didn’t like. He saw they had no TV. Penn had no toys. • Crash helps Penn Win the race.
Character List • Crash- (main character)In junior high plays football for school. He parents does go for him games because there always busy. • Penn- (Crash best friends)Always goes in each football game even though he isn't a foot ball player he's a cheerleader. • Crashes parents- There always busy they don’t have time for him. They work a lot both mom and dad. • Scooter- was important to Crash he was always there for him . He got a stroke and couldn’t talk or remember Crash .
Setting • School- Crash plays football for school. He's Friends Penn does cheerleading. ( he's the only boy because he wanted to impress a girl named Jane Ford.) • Home-Crash lives in a wealthy home. Then Crashes Parent are always busy they don’t have time for him.
Study Questions • Throughout the book Crash never said that he wanted a closer family. How could you tell that he really did want his family closer? Crash was jealous because Penn’s parent took him out places and Crash’s parents didn’t because they were too busy working. • How could you tell that Crash’s parents got closer? His mom stopped working for a while. Then they started doing things on weekends like going out places.
