3. Symbol: Bus • In the story • The bus only picked up the Caucasians and not the African Americans.

4. Event: Little man • Pg:21-31 • Little man was upset because his book was dirty and there was an inappropriate word and chart. • He felt it was unfair that he got a dirty book when the Caucasians got nice ones.

5. Quote: Little man • Pg:23 • “I-I said may I have another book please ma,am” he squeaked “this ones dirty.” • He realize how beaten down and use it was and felt it was unfair.

6. Event: Bus got stuck • Pg:12,13,50-52 • The school bus speeds up and runs the kids off the road. So the kids dug a hole and the school bus got stuck. • The school bus did something mean to the children so the children did something back to them.

7. Symbol: School • IN the story • The Caucasians go to a better school than the African Americans.

8. Event: Cassie got pushed off the sidewalk • Pg: 114-116, 180 • Lillian’s dad pushed Cassie off the sidewalk so Cassie acted nice to Lillian and then Cassie beat Lillian up and made her apologize. • Lillian and her father disrespected Cassie so Cassie beat her up for revenge.

9. Symbol: Uncle Hammers car • In the book • Uncle Hammer speed across the bridge knowing Caucasian family thought it was Mr. Granger and filled uncle Hammer with joy.

10. Quote: Lillian’s father • Pg: 114 • “When my gal Lillian Jean says for you to get yo’self off the sidewalk, you get, you hear?” • He disrespected Cassie because Cassie didn’t listen to Lillian when she told her to get off the sidewalk.

11. Event: Mr. Jamison • Pg: 160-164 • Mr. Jamison is friends with the Logan family. • Mr. Jamison is treated with respect from the Logan family because they get treated with respect from him.

12. Event: The Wallace's got beat up • pg:214-215 • Mr. Morrison beat up the Wallace’s because they were trying to harm the Logan's and him. They also shot papa. • If the Wallace’s didn’t attack the Logan’s they would never got beaten up by Mr. Morrison.
