  1. Best Practices adopted by State 1. Third Party Evaluation Divisionwise consultants are appointed for the technical guidance. The consultants visits the works at various five stages to guide construction agency (SMC) for supervision and certification of the works. They also conduct the district and block level work-shops of concern Officer and SMC members regarding to achive quality of work.

  3. 3. Infrastructure Survey • Infrastructure Survey of all Local Body Schools including AUTOCAD maps is carried out in 2008-09 by the state. It covers physical, structural, academic and infrastructure aspects. Special database is developed. This data is useful for finding out requirement of Additional Class Room and other infrastructure facilities. The AUTOCAD map now used as base map for Whole school development planning.

School Mapping • Objective • To find the requirement of schools in each district of Maharashtra [Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary] • Mapping of all habitations will be done through GPS. • To locate all schools on the digital map of Maharashtra [‘google map’] with the help of cluster head and BRC/DRC data entry operator in coordination with SSA district programmer • It is expected to be completed by Feb. end.

Database & Methodology • Step – 1: District wise DISE data and SEMIS data was linked with census village code to generate the village wise distribution of schools • Step – 2: District wise ‘kml file’ which includes the marking of schools on the digital map [google earth] • Step – 3: Coupling of kml file with the village wise distribution of schools to generate buffers for calculating the requirement of schools in each district • Primary – 1km buffer • Upper Primary – 3kms buffer • Secondary – 5kms buffer

  13. 5. ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT • Environmental Assessment survey is conducted to judge the verious environmental aspects of the schools • Out of total 64823 schools Environmental Assessment survey of 41865 schools are completed. The remaining survey is in progress .

Child Tracking System (CTS) • Child Tracking is focus area in the year 2010-11. • Online Child Tracking Software developed. • Data Capture Form designed. • Software was used on pilot basis in Dhule & Parbhani District. • Web site launched in the name:- http://gms.maharashtra.gov.in/ChildTracking/Default.aspx. • Process was initiated in one block of each district. • Data entry of these blocks will be completed by end of Feb.-2011. • All the children in the age group of 6 to 14 shall be covered through CTS in the year 2011-12.

  18. 7.MOU with Bank Of Maharashtra • For proper monitoring of expenditure and efficative implementation of “RashtriyaMadhyamikShikshaAbhiyan” the State Project Director would enter into MOU with Bank Of Maharashtra • Bank of Maharashtra is a nationalized bank having wide network throughout Maharashtra.

  19. cont. • Bank of Maharashtra will allow access to the Authorised Signatories of the Nodal Account to view the accounts opened at all branches of Bank of Maharashtra through internet and facility to take printouts of the account. • All the said accounts shall be Savings Bank account carrying interest as per norms of Reserve Bank of India. The accounts have zero balance facility. • No Transaction charges such as Cheque book issue, ECS clearing, RTGS etc.

Model Resource Room Under IED Resource Room at centre place in silent area, Area of 300 sq.ft., Barrier free, light colours to the wall, Adaptive furniture, Movement register, Registration of CWSN during the visit, All formats made available, Availability of case files with name & address of CWSN,

LokchetnaAbhiyan : • “Lokchetna Abhiyan” selected as the common name for both community mobilization and community training. • Rigorous and Meticulous planning adopted for development of training module for “Lokchetna Abhiyan” through MIEPA, Aurangabad. Objectives :- • To sensitize community about UEE through SMC & local authority representatives. • To monitor school functioning regularly. • To develop SEDP with a sense of ownership & implement the same.

LokchetnaAbhiyan : • To create awareness among the SMCs about RTE Act,2009. • To focus their attention towards the access, enrollment, retention, quality & capacity building. • To enhance the quality of education. • To pursue teachers to attend the school regularly & solve their problems. • To suggest remedial measures for out of school children, irregular children. • To aware with various grants for the school & their proper utilization. • To monitor & supervise construction work of school building, ACR etc. • To enable SMCs to play a critical role between community & appropriate government & local authority.

  26. Model School Concept “Model School” is a comprehensive and integrated flagship programme of Government of India. The programme aims to provide useful and relevant education to all children with emphasis on bridging gender and social gaps. In order to achieve this objective. 43 model schools are being set up in 43 Education backward blocks of the State based on KendriyaVidyalaya template.

  30. 12. GIRLS HOSTEL “Girls Hostel” – Significant gaps in enrolment of girls at the elementary and secondary levels as compared to boys are visible. Therefore the girl student in the age group 14-18 studying in classes IX to XII and belonging to SC,ST,OBC, Minority communities and BPL families will form the target group of the Scheme.
