  1. Endocrine System

  2. Where is the hormone produced? What are the target organs/ structures of the hormone? • Hormones are a chemical messenger which is produced by the glands inside the Endocrine system. • A target organ/ structure is ANY organ that the hormone directly effects. Such as if the target organ is the growth organ than the effects would be the growth of a person.

  3. What is the normal function of the hormone? How does the hormone contribute to the homeostasis? • Some examples for normal functions of the hormones are that they alter plasma membrane permeability by expanding or closing closed ion channels • They stimulate the synthesis of some proteins, and never the less enzymes. • They induce secretory activities • And they stimulate cell division.

  4. What are the causes and symptoms of hypersecretionof the hormone? What diseases result from this conditions? • A gene in your body can cause the secretion in the body, this can cause the body depression or anxiety. • A diseases caused by hyper secretion is “Gigantisms” This disease is the excess somatotrophic hormone production by the pituitary gland; the long bones continue to grow.

  5. What are the treatments for under or over activation of the hormone pathway? • Treatments are the activation of the p38 MAPK pathway by the follicle that stimulates the hormone by regulating the steroigenesis in granulose cells that are differentially. (Source found in pubmed.gov)

  6. How, if at all is the hormone used clinical or commercially? • The leptin hormone is used commercially for a drug of weight loss.
