Bench Marking (contd.) Benchmarking is a systematic process for securing continual improvement through comparison with relevant and achievable internal or external norms and standards. Benchmarking implies comparison, either internally with previous performance and desired future targets or externally against similar organisations.
Indicators selected for Benchmarking Annual irrigation water supply for unit irrigated area. Potential utilised and created Out put for unit irrigated area Out put for unit of irrigation water supply Cost recovery ratio Total O & M cost per unit area Total O & M cost per unit water supply Revenue for unit water supply Assessment recovery ratio Land damage index Equity performance Man days for O & M per unit area.
Reporting Mechanism Section Officers should submit the water account of the season within 15 days to the Sub-Division. Sub-Division level consolidation section wise within 7 days and analyse the performance at selection level Division level consolidation of sub-divisions to be completed in 3 days and analyse the performance at SDN level by EE
Reporting Mechanism (contd.) Circle level consolidation of divisions to be completed in 2 days and analysis of performance at Division level will be done by SE. Annual water account prepared at Division level and submit to the CE/CADA CE will submit the report to CADA Project wise analysis will be done at CADA in comparison with the previous years performance, avg. during the last 5 years and the best performance achieved and comparisons will also be made across projects
