Moose Youth Awareness • 2011 Moose International Student Congress will be held April 28 – May 2 in Charlotte NC. • Moose Legion once again will happily fund the 5 Scholarships at the conclusion of the Congress.
The winners are: 1st Place Winner $1,000 Scholarship: Jessica Wright, Pasco High School (SPONSORED BY FINLEY LODGE 2681) 2nd Place Winner $500 Scholarship: Maritza Lino, Warden High School (SPONSORED BY PORT ANGELES LODGE 996) 3rd Place Winner $250 Scholarship: Lukas Rogers, Ellensburg High School (SPONSORED BY ELLENSBURG CHAPTER 348) There were some truly outstanding Kid's Talks projects submitted this year and hundreds of 4-9 year olds benefited from the lessons taught! What a great job by all students who participated. Jessica Wright will be invited to attend the Moose International Student Congress being held in Charlotte, NC later this year, all expenses paid, for an opportunity to compete for the $30,000 in scholarship money being awarded there! I want to thank all the Lodges and Chapters who stepped up to support this cornerstone Moose fraternal program this year by sponsoring students. What a difference you made! Not only did it help your Lodge or Chapter in your efforts toward the Premiere Lodge Award or Community Service program, it enable the Assn to award 3 scholarships this year to deserving students and encouraged a total of 110 students to participate in the program. Those students gave Kid's Talk presentations to over three hundred fifty 4-9 year olds on making safe and healthy choices in their lives! Talk about making a difference! It is a big part of what we as an organization are all about!
