Mandan Housing The Mandans lodges are circular, warm, big, and made of sod. In the lodges you get one room per family, but you get your own bed. Sixty people fit in one lodge plus your pets. Hunting For the tribe hunting is very important, It’s like life or death. One skill that they use is they disguise them self as wolfs. They also don’t attack right away but before you can go attack the buffalos the men have top know their job! After they know their job they surround the buffalos and scare them so they could go to a cliff until the buffalos fall. This is how they used to hunt This is how the lodges looked. http://www.google.com/search http://www.google.com/search

Kiowas Nomads The kiowas were nomads that were found in the Southern Great Plains. They never stay in one place they are always moving place to place. Since they never stay in one place they don’t farm or live d in villages. The nomads were selfish, they were selfish because they claimed certain areas when they don’t stay in one place. The nomads depend on buffalos just like the madman's. Buffalo Uses Their buffalo uses are as important as they are to the Mandan's. the nomads make easy shelters to move called tepees. They made this with buffalo skin, it covered it top to bottom although they did make a hole on the top so the smoke can get out. They make beds and blankets. The nomads houses, cloth, food, and fuel came from buffalo. For their fuel they used dried buffalo droppings called chips. Travois For the nomads travois (truh-voy) are important. They are carriers that carry goods. They used tepee poles to make travois, then they would get horses to drag the poles kind of like if it was a carriage. http://www.google.com/search This is a travois
