Northwest Coast The great north west is an area of a land along the Colombia river passing threw Washington and Oregon. The land was very wetand has great diversity. Trading The Dalles river was one of the greatest trading center in north America. People come to Dalles to trade. Chines come trade though the warm summer months. Northwest Coast They lived in between the ocean and rugged moan months. They traveled by water because it was much easer. They had a woodendugout to travel the waters. They hunt fish so they can survive they find there own food. The Indians hunt deer, bears and other animals in the summer.
Chinooks Shelter they lived in a valley maid up rows of long wooden houses.they hade no windows.They build houses over a hole dug so the rooms were under ground this is called a pit house. Trading They traded dried, fish, shell, fur, mask, jewelry, basket and copper. They also traded prisoners. Celebration Patches these were special gathering they spent years preparing hundreds of gifts to be given away to show there wealth. The Makah's Food Make different parts of a body raps and bags. They eat and had plenty of fish, they waist a little bite of food. They built canoes to hunt in the sea most coastal tribes capture only behave. Spent months preparing to hunt. Hunting The canoes were sixe feet wide and carries about 60 people.
