  1. Energy Creation – Self Sustainability The KZN Waste Solution developed pyrolysis technology is a highly efficient gasification unit which uses the waste to create electricity. This provides a very efficient, cost effective method of electricity. The Pyrolysis process is an advanced conversion technology that produces a clean, high calorific gas from a wide variety of waste streams. The hydrocarbon content of the waste is converted into a bio-gas. In keeping with KZN Waste Solution’s commitments to environmental protection and energy efficiency, even the heat generated from the gasification unit is recycled within the facility.   2. The Benefits • Pyrolysis provides a much better solution to extracting energy from waste than incineration. The Benefits are: • The KZN Waste solution is significantly cheaper than traditional Waste to Energy incineration facilities; • The process outputs no harmful emissions; • The size of the KZN Waste Solution WTE facility is significantly smaller than incineration plants; • The life expectancy of a Cierra facility is in excess of 30 years. • The process produces 'green' energy; • The KZN Waste Solution process displaces the use of fossil fuels; • The process enables waste to be managed locally; • Contributes towards government environmental targets.   3. The Product Potential Product Manufacture The material is blended and then passed through an extruder which forms the material. This squeezes it just like toothpaste out of a tube, whereupon it can be cast and moulded into the desired end product. Blended pellets enter the extruder line on the right, are heated and pressurised, then extruded into the cooling carousel moulds on the left. The Product Potential • Product Uses • The Recycled Material is exceptionally versatile as both a timber substitute and as a construction material. • It is ideal for external use and can be made pre-formed for applications such as: • Fencing, • Decking, • Boardwalks, • Cladding, • Garden Buildings and Furniture, • Municipal Street Furniture, • Roof Tiles & Building Bricks.
