Acquired, not inherited but obtained. Immuno, immune system protects us from diseases. Deficiency, meaning lacking or weakened, for AIDS it’s the immune system. S yndrome, group of symptoms that indicate a person is sick.

AIDS can NOT be cured. Usually not from the HIV infection directly but from some other disease that HIV has allowed their body to contract. (because their body can not fight off the disease/illness ex: pneumonia)
