Building Your Student Success Plan: Day 2 Robin Metaj ACES PDSI May 9, 2013
Agenda • Review: When last we met • Ensuring all was covered • Closer looks at other districts • Implementation strategies (Advisory, Folder sharing) • Writing- Final additions to drafts • Published document • Publishing to the web • File Sharing review • Dropbox • Google Docs
Discussion In groups, discuss how you feel Wallingford’s SSP implementation is going so far? What’s working? What isn’t?
Revisiting Our Work: Today’s work will focus on COMPLETION of the following: • Identify what learning experiences you’re already providing • Do a gap analysis • Categorize your activities • Potentially assign staff • Create a timeline • Determine outcome measures
Publishing The SSP Using the template provided, begin to organize how you will publish your SSP document. Remember: To date, the SSP is NOT submitted to SDE.
Publishing On The Web: • South Windsor • Simsbury • Tolland • Region 14 Web docs begin as Word docs. • Use your template • Edit! • Be MORE concise, brief Look at the districts above to begin to “lay out” your plan.
Next Steps • Complete TWO documents for publication • “Written” document (longer, more detailed) • Used for paper copies, submission to CSDE, detailed information to stakeholders requesting/requiring it • “Web” document (brief, concise language) • Kept as a MS Word doc (or similar) & send electronically to webmaster • Link to website can also be shared with stakeholders & CSDE • Revisit Implementation • How are we doing?
Dropbox • File Sharing System • Can be shared teacher-teacher, teacher-student • Can be useful to deliver “canned” curriculum
