  1. Fera Observations • Aim: Assumption that technique (chest shot) humane, BUT no objective field data; aim to collect sufficient data. • Technique being assessed, NOT performance of individual contractor. Will not observe on 1st night of shooting. • At least 60 contractors observed (30 per area) for each weapon type, picked at random and obs spread over whole cull. • Single observer to reduce field presence and therefore impact on shooting success, consequence that will have to work in partnership; joint responsibility for H&S. • All observers have prior experience of shooting and will meet prior to cull. Use thermal cameras and sound recorders. • Will be no advice/interference, unless guidance obviously not being followed.
