b North East Region TDA-funded CPD Leadership Project Phase 2 Update – 2 July 2008
What has happened since our last update? • 29 April: Half-day introductory session at Ramside Hall for 45 CPD Consultant Leaders and LA representatives • 5 June: Full day at Seaham Hall for all 45 delegates and LA representatives • Representatives of the Steering Group and LA contacts attended a National Feedback Day in London on 9 June • Cohort 1 (15) completed two days of training package on 9/10 June at Redworth Hall • Cohort 1 are currently undertaking their school-based Practitioner Enquiry Project • Cohort 1 will complete Day 3 of the training package on 9 July • Steering Group met with consultants on 30 June to review progress and focus of training • Following Day 3, Cohort 1 will write up the findings of their Practitioner Enquiry Project , using the GTCE Teacher Learning Academy (TLA) Framework • Day 3 is currently being reviewed, following feedback from Steering Group b

WWW • All 12 local authorities in the North East are involved in the project • LAs identified 45 CPD Consultant Leaders and they all turned up! • Cohort 1 (15) engaged with programme • Positive feedback from delegates attending events on 29 April and 5 June b
EBI... • delegates concerns around what was expected of them had been addressed at the outset • all LAs had briefed delegates in advance of the training re their future deployment • there had been less emphasis on coaching/co-coaching • even better if there had been greater emphasis on tools to support their work in school • there had been advance knowledge of delegates’ skill/knowledge base prior to commencing training b
