  5. Role of CITA Supervisor • Set priorities for CITA • Resolve conflicting support demands from departmental users • Identify training needs • Provide time for training and professional development • Evaluate job performance

  6. Training Program • Goal: Help CITAs to become as self-sufficient and knowledgeable of IT as possible.

  7. Training Team • User Services and Help Center staff • Diverse group • Initial meeting June 2001 • Plan and implement a training program within this fiscal year

  8. Program Content • CITA survey (June 2001) • IT staff brainstorming • Reviewed other schools’ programs • Two types of information: • Orientation • Technical • Offer a variety of options

Three Modules • Module 1: Orientation information • On the web • Includes standards information • Module 2: Self-service training materials • Manuals • Online training • Module 3: Formal training options • Customized, on campus, and instructor-led (IT covers entire cost) • Off campus (we share costs with CITA’s dept.)

  13. WebCT course for CITA Training • Start here: www.udel.edu/cita/profdevelopment • Review information • Answer a few questions • Get access to training materials and classes • Start now – there are deadlines!

Deadlines • Complete WebCT course as soon as possible • Deadline for book and manual orders—May 1 • Training deadlines: • on-campus—register by May 1 to receive course manuals (training scheduled for May 28–31) • off-campus—allow sufficient time for registration and payment to be made by June 15
