  2. Course Materials • Composition or spiral bound notebook (3) • Pencils and pens (Black or Blue ink) • Post -it notes • Hi-lighters • Silent Reading Book • Glue, scissors, color pencils • USB drive

  3. Course Requirements • Students are required to complete monthly writing projects, write daily and follow the writing process. • Monthly Writing Projects • May include narrative stories, descriptive essays, poetry, screenplays/teleplays, advertisements, and reports. • Time will be given in class to work on projects, but final drafts/projects may need to be completed at home.

  4. Grading Policy • A standard grading scale will be used • Grading Categories Writing = 35% Classwork/Grammar/Participation = 50% Homework = 10% Tests/Quizzes = 5%

  5. Grading Policy • Monthly writing projects/assignments will be docked ONE letter grade for every DAY they are late. • Work that is illegible, sloppy, or improperly turned in will not be given full credit or may not receive credit at all.

  6. Aeries Grade Portal • Be sure to check your child’s grades online. • Go to www.jeffersonschooldistrict.com and click on Grades. • If you need instructions on how to sign in, please see the school office. Please email me if you need the password.
