14. Travel Insurance • All tour funds are protected by an A-Rated $25,000,000 insurance policy. In addition, ACIS®/Encore Tours is a member of USTOA (United States Tour Operators Association) • Each ACIS® /Encore Tours journeying performer travels with an automatic $2,500 medical insurance assistance. • All participants have the option to augment the basic insurance, doubling the coverage, and providing pre-departure medical cancellation protection. The comprehensive protection plan rates are as follows: Comprehensive Insurance: $15 per person per day, Ultimate Protection Plan: $25 per person per day.

15. Bon Voyage Concert and Gala • Sunday, June 19th 5:00 pm • Heritage Theatre, Campbell, CA • Gala and Silent Auction • Gala committee: Help plan and get donations for our silent auction. This will be our major organization wide fundraiser for the season!! Ticket sales will go toward tour costs!

17. Currency • $25-$30 per day (meals, drinks, refreshments) • Personal items / gifts are extra • Currency • - Euro • Traveler’s checks • Not recommended. Most businesses, restaurants do not take them • Credit or ATM card • Usually favorable exchange rates • May be replenished by family • May charge extra 3% fee (fairly recent – check with your issuer) • Make sure you are authorized for international use • Make sure you have an international pin (4 digits) • For under-age travelers, visit www.visabuxx.com which offers cards for younger members who wouldn’t normally possess a card.

18. Luggage/Instrument Rules and Regulations • Luggage • Checked: 1 suitcase not to exceed 50lbs in weight and a maximum of 62 linear inches (length + width + height). For any bag above 50lbs a minimum charge of 30 Euro will be made by Lufthansa at check-in with an average charge of 30E/kg overweight PER LEG of the journey (This must be paid by student at time of check-in, no exceptions). • Carry-on: 1 bag not to exceed 17lbs in weight and a maximum of 43 linear inches (length + width + height) + 1 personal item such as camera or handbag. • The group must be restricted to one suitcase per person due to bus cargo space and we use the second piece as the instrument with the airlines. • Instruments • Carry-on: Violin/ Violas/ flutes, oboes, clarinets • Checked: Trombone/ Horns/Cello/Tuba/Bass • Saxophones, Trumpets and bassoons are “tricky” and have been placed in both. We will try to carry-on though they are slightly oversize. • Two hard cello cases are available for a low rental fee of $30 per week. First come, first served.

20. What to do now? • Get your passport or visa in order NOW!! Korean nationals DO NOT need visa’s to travel in Europe. Chinese/Taiwanese and Indian nationals DO need a “schengen visa” which will be good for all 3 countries. Visit the Italy Embassy in San Jose or use a visa service such as: Peninsula Visa & PassportService (408) 727-7515 100 Century Center Ct Ste 140, San Jose, CA www.peninsulavisa.com/ • Renew passports online at http:travel.state.gov . Allow at least 6 weeks for passport renewal. Passports must be good through Jan. 7th, 2012! • Insure your instruments! • Hard instrument cases in the event we must check our instruments! • Join our Bon Voyage and Gala committee!!
