Additive Inversea.k.a. Additive Identity • The opposite of a number
Multiplicative Inverse • the reciprocal of a number. A reciprocal is one of a pair of numbers that when multiplied with another number equals the number 1.
Absolute Value • the magnitude of a real number without regard to its sign. Hint: remove any negative sign in front of a number, and to think of all numbers as positive
Long Division • a way to solve division problems with large numbers
Natural Numbers • the positive integers (whole numbers) 1, 2, 3, etc., and sometimes zero as well.
Negative Numbers • number that is less than zero.
Opposite Numbers • the number on the opposite side of zero on the number line.
Positive numbers • A number that is bigger than zero.
Repeating Decimals • a decimal fraction in which a figure or group of figures is repeated indefinitely.
Zero pair • a pair of numbers whose sum is zero.
