Pad Chamber +MuTr station #1 for Muon Trigger Upgrade 10/27/2003 Muon Trigger Upgrade meeting
Position Resolution using MuTr Cathode and Anode MuTr station#1 has 3 anode gaps. Each gap has a plane with cathode strip 90 degree to anode and a plane with strip 11.25 or 6 degree to anode. Width of cathode strip is 0.5cm, anode spacing is 1.0cm. Annode charge fire 4-6 strips from simulation with mom>=4GeV/c. Hits position is determined by the intersection point betweem wire and cathode strips.
LUT between MuTr#1/PC2/Symset Then we do look-up among MuTr#1/pc2/symset. Single muons with mom=4-10GeV/c is passed through PISA. Only multiple-scattering and energy loss are turned on. Here shows only tile size: MuTr#1/10cm, PC2/30cm.
Rejection and Efficiency with (:MuTr#1/pc2) cut and MuTr#1/PC2/uIDLL1 LUT(1.LUT is satisfied in BOTH directions) (1). PC1 is in front of station #1. Tile size PC1(10cm), PC2(20cm). Perfect resolution (2). MuTr#1. PC2 resolution is perfect. Mutr#1 tile size 10cm/PC2 tile size 30cm • The LUT of MuTr#1/PC2/symset is low, i.e. 76%. Need to find the reason. • No field betweem nosecone and station#1, therefore the different at ()<1 is due to the position resolution in MuTr#1. • In other angle cut, rejection in (2) is large than (1), should be caused by low eff.
(1). MuTr#1. PC2 Res(R)=10cm, Res(phi)=1o. Mutr#1 tile size 25cm/PC2 tile size 60cm Effect of PC2 position Resolution (2). MuTr#1. PC2 Res(R)=20cm, Res(phi)=1o. Mutr#1 tile size 25cm/PC2 tile size 60cm • PISA hits is smeared in R/. Need to re-do using real detector configuration. • efficiency for MuTr/PC2/symset LUT is only 76%. Need to understand. • efficiency for angle cut <1 degree is less since the PC2 angular resolution is 1 degree. • Efficiency for LUT start to drop after PC2 resolution > 10cm.
