  1. Recap Clamp for MuTr Station-3 Itaru Nakagawa For the PHENIX Muon Trigger Upgrade Collaboration Especially credit to: Tsutomu Mibe (KEK) Yoshinori Fukao (RIKEN) YoshimitsuImazu (RIKEN) Kentaro Watanabe (Rikkyo)

  2. MuTr Cross Talk HV (1800 V) Rise time of anode signal ~ 10 nsec Serious Issue for Big Pulse 100mV 1 MW Anode wire 3V Removed to reduce HV trips .... 100 pF ~0.1 pF/strip 1 MW Cathode strips (96 strip) Decap Doesn’t exist. Anode Readout Pointed out by Tsutomu Mibe@KEK

  3. Solution HV (1800 V) Rise time of anode signal ~ 10 nsec 1 MW Anode wire .... 100 pF ~0.1 pF/strip 1 MW R<<1M W Cathode strips (96 strip) Additional Circuit to let anode current escape to ground.

  4. MuTr Station-3 Anode Card To Anode Wire Pads for surface mount capacitors Left over Solder + Coating Capacitor (Removed)

  5. North Station-3 Anode Gap Geometrical Constraint 25mm 28mm Anode cards are only accessible from their back. Front pattern can only be visible using an inspection mirror.

  13. Towards Successful Installation

  14. Alignment Spacer determines Transverse direction within ~ 300mm. Fiber scope shot Possible misalignment can be found by visual inspection using a fiber scope Fiber Scope

  15. Electrical Contact Readout socket Electrical Contact will be confirmed by measuring Voltage using temporary readout tool. Readout Board To be removed after the measurement.

  16. Extreme Breathing Test HV=1900V Duration 2min

  17. Installation Proposal To be installed North Bottom Octants

  18. Summary • We have developed prototype clamps for re-capacitation to MuTr St-3. • Good Contact was established more than 90% channels with present design in North MuTr. • We propose to install 3 different prototypes (each 20) to North bottom Octants for Run11. • They can be uninstalled during Run if they cause trouble in HV operation.
