Title I: Improving Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged • Purpose • Ensure all children have fair, equal & significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education • Designed to meet the educational needs of low-achieving children and close the gap • Provides • Decentralized decision making • Improved accountability • High quality professional development • Expanded family involvement • Extended learning time • Early intervention
Title I: Improving Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged • Primary use of Funds • Reading Specialists • Supplemental Math and Communication Arts Teachers • Paraprofessionals • Research based supplemental materials • Student computers
Title IIA: Training & Recruiting High Quality Teachers & Principals • Purpose • Increase student achievement by providing teacher and principal quality through: • High quality professional development • Increase the number of highly qualified teachers and principals

Title IID: Enhancing Education Through Technology • Purpose • Improve student achievement through use of technology in elementary and secondary schools. • Assist in crossing the digital divide by ensuring every student is technologically literate by the time they finish 8th grade • Encourage the effective integration of technology resources with teacher training & curriculum development using research-based instructional delivery methods
Title IID: Enhancing Education Through Technology • Primary Use of Funds • Information Literacy Coach • Professional Development for Media Specialists • Minor technology enhancements
Title III: Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient & Immigrant Students • Purpose • Ensure that English Language Learners (ELL) attain English proficiency by: • Achieving high levels in core academic subjects in educational settings taught in English only. • Promote parent and community involvement.

Title IV: Safe and Drug Free Schools • Purpose • Foster safe and drug-free learning environment that supports student achievement by; • Supporting programs that prevent violence in and around schools • Preventing illegal use of alcohol, tobacco & other drugs • Involving parents and communities • Coordinating activities with related Federal, State, school and community efforts
Title IV: Safe and Drug Free Schools • Primary use of funds • Student Assistance Family Empowerment (SAFE) Teams • Professional development on character education, behavior management & conflict resolution • Parent education on truancy and warning signs of violence and drugs/alcohol • Hickman Mills Prevention Coalition training and education
