The Vision Statement of the Windsor C-1 School District The Windsor C-1 School District is one in which all stakeholders work collaboratively to be academic leaders in an atmosphere of mutual respect. It is a true learning community where everyone strives to improve our academic excellence through progressive curriculum and instructional practice. The schools of our district exhibit high standards, with the needs of our students as the top priority.

  2. Commitment • “Community begins with a shared vision. It’s sustained by teachers who, as school leaders, bring inspiration and direction to the institution. Who, after all, knows more about the classroom? Who is better able in inspire children? Who can evaluate, more sensitively, the educational progress of each student? And who but teachers create a true community for learning? Teachers are, without a question, the heartbeat of a successful school.” • Ernest Boyer (1995)

Differentiated Instruction (DI) • Today’s intended learning TARGET • To gain an understanding of the 3 areas you can differentiate in your classroom • To gain an understanding of how you can group your students for DI instruction. • To gain an understanding of DOK can help you differentiate your lessons.

  6. What you will be responsible for?(Assessment) • 1. Completing the front and back of page 1 of your hand out. • It will be collected as you leave today • What it will be used for? • Check for understanding (Formative Assessment) • Professional Development planning • Attendance • It will be returned to you tomorrow

  7. What you will be responsible for?(Assessment) • 2. Creating 1 DI lesson to implement during the 4th quarter. • Your lesson will be need to be turned the office by a specified time • Your lesson needs to be documented in your curriculum binder

  8. Essential Questions(To be answered through competing the Assessments) • 1. What areas will I be able to apply DI to? • 2. How can I group my students to implement DI? • 3. How can I use DOK levels to better understand the equalizer? (Introductory, more will come at the beginning of the 2007-08 school year)
