Rules and Regulations of an individual sport Tennis By Lewis Richards
Basic rules • Double Bounce-the ball can bounce a single time in your own half. • Serving -You have to serve the ball to start the match. • Tramline-If you hit the ball pas the tramline the opponent gets a point. • Net- If the ball hits the top of over during open you still get the point. • Swapping- Ever time a round is over the players switch who serves.
Assessing the rules • Tramline, the is not always fair because if you hit the ball on the line it could count as out. • The rule is important because it shows how much power you can do with the impact • No
Regulations • Shoes- The shoes the you wear have to be appropriate for tennis. • Net size-The net size has to be 3ft at the centre of the court. • Court size-The court size has to be 27 for single
Assessing the regulations • Court size is a there because it would be to easy if the court size was longer. • And its useful because it tests the power you put in impact • I don’t think it can be improved
Roles of the officials • Senior Umpire- There to judge the play and the scores • Ball boy- An official that gets the ball every time someone scores a point. • Line judge- there role is to judge whether a ball goes out or not.
Responsibilities of an official • It’s the senior umpire’s responsibility to make a fair decision in when a match is in play • It’s the ball boy’s responsibility to get the ball when a point has been scored • It’s the line judges decision to call if the ball is out and to make a fair decision about it.
Scoring System • The sets are best out of 5 if a player hits the ball on the floor inside the area and it bounces twice then you score a point the score system goes up in 15 the first to get up to 40 points wins. If both players get up to 40 its called a Deuce if you score • Two points in a row you’ll win the game but if your opponent gets one while you have an advantage it goes back to Deuce.
