  2. 5 Basic Rules. • Each player has a maximum of one bounce after it has been hit to them • Players stand on opposite sides of a net • Double bounce is when ball bounces two times in your own half meaning you lose a point • Tramline when you hit the ball past the it the opponent gains the point • The net the ball has to go over the net to win a point

  3. Assessing the rules • Double bounce • This rule is always fair because if the ball bounce over the line twice the opponent you will win the point and it would be the if you miss the ball bouncing twice

  4. Regulation • Shoes: the tennis shoe should be the right size in order for you to balance and move up and down the court well. • Net size: the size of the net will need to cover the with of the court and will need to be three meters tall . • Tennis racket: the size of the racket will depend on the size of you the taller you are the bigger the racket.

  5. Assessing the Regulations. Your tennis shoes your tennis shoes will have to be the correct size for you so you would be able to move up and down the court with good balance. Your tennis shoes will have to be a type of tennis, running, or sports shoe for you to be abele to preform at your highest stranded.

  6. Roles of the Officials. • Senior umpire: • To keep track of the score and read it out loud to the players. • Call’s for “Hawk-eye” if the call is challenged. • Calms players if they argue / disagree. Can discipline players. • Ball boy: • His job is to collect the ball when it goes out of play or hits the net. • It’s the ball boy’s role to change all the balls when necessary. • Line judge: • To say whether the ball is out of play or not. • To call for foot fouls. • Senior umpire: To say if the player scored ore not and his job is the main official.

  7. Responsibilities of the official’s It is the responsibility of the officials to; • Maintain their fitness to sustain their position for watching the play. • Ensure they are focussed and concentrated for the whole match. • Ensure they wear the correct uniform. • Study the rules and keep track of rule changes.

  8. Scoring system. • To score a point players must hit the ball over the net, inside the court lines and make it bounce twice. • Points are named as follows; Love (=0), 15, 30, 40. Next point wins the game. If points get to 40-40 it is called “Deuce” and players play to 2 more points, next point is called “advantage”. There are 6 games in a “set”. If the score is 6-6 in games a tie-breaker is player to decide the winner of the set. Players need 3 sets to win a male match, 2 sets in female tennis.
