Checklist for NAVIANCE • LOG-IN: https://connection.naviance.com/family-connection/auth/login/?hsid=AISoJ • IB Projected Scores: Under “About Me” Tab and then go to “Scores” • Under “College Tab”:“Colleges I am Applying to” • FERPA Waiver- “Colleges I am Applying to” * First have completed registration on the Common Application. • HOME TAB in Naviance “Prep Me” – SAT Preparation – On left side of menu

  8. Parents can… • Meet with University Counselor at AISJ • Help students with Application Information (Biographical Info/Application Fees) • Observe from a safe distance • Talk with your child about careers, goals and higher education expectations. • Be Supportive! • Finances

Your child will… • NAVIANCE FAMILY CONNECTION • Personal Essays • Take Final Tests/Exams • Keep Track of Deadlines • Request Recommendations from Teachers • Create a Realistic University List • Keep working hard all year! • Enter Updates on NAVIANCE • Search for Scholarships • Follow up – On Track/University Websites • Tell IB Coordinator – Mr Hurtado where they want their scores sent • Say THANK-YOU

The counselors will… • Be involved in the process with your child… • Guide your child on personal statements/essays • Advise students on university and course selection • Be available to talk during mission blocks • Help students develop List and Reach/Target/Safety Schools • Obtain and Inform students of IB Projected scores • http://www.ibo.org/recognition/ - IB Advanced Credit • Read teacher recommendations/write counselor recommendation • Look over students application • Send transcripts, profile, IB projections, letters and any other information to University on behalf of your child. • Communicate between the University and Student • Follow up – Talk with University Admission Officers
