USA • Over 4,000 Colleges and Universities • 4-year program for 1st degree • Tuition costs between $26,000- $60,000/yr. in the United States. • Apply to University/College and select your course of study or studies after 1 or 2 years-Common Application • Apply online to universities and colleges not on CA. • Universities look at: • TRANSCRIPTS/Course Rigor • IB Diploma Projected Grades • ESSAYS • LEADERSHIP • STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES • RECOMMENDATIONS • ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

South Africa • When an AISJ student wishes to apply to a South African University go the website of university and find : “ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS WITH AN INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMA. “ • Students need to apply for a Matric Exemption Certificate for Admission toBachelor’s Degree Studies. • A M30E form can be obtained from Ms Barltrop at the HS office although you are requested to apply online. • Holders of the American High School Diploma need to get an acceptance letter from an accredited United States University or submit your SAT results • Some SA Universities accept the IB Diploma and the M30E (MatricExemption) may not be required • Matric Exemption website; www.hesa-enrol.ac.za
