NPA Summary • JAR-OPS 1 alignment with amendment 29 to ICAO Annex 6 Part I • Need to consider type 2 LoA (Letter of Acceptance) or alternative processes to demonstrate data integrity by the data suppliers • Operators’ responsibility to ensure that they obtained Nav DB, used on board as primary means of navigation, by a supplier holding an type 2 LoA EASA Flight Standards Rulemaking
NPA summary • NPA published for public consultation 1 June 2006 - 1 September 2006 • CRD and modified text proposal were reviewed at the last OST (07-1) • OPSG and EQSG have exchanged some further texts enhancements • EQSG states that all are technically equivalent EASA Flight Standards Rulemaking
CONCLUSIONS • OST is invited to review EQSG Chairman’s WP 07-2. • OST is invited to consider that EQSG preference is option 2. • The current NPA contains EQSG’s preferred option with paragraph JAR-OPS 1.873 (b) aligned with type 2 LoA process. Type 2 LoA is not an approval but a ‘Letter of Acceptance’. • OST is invited to adopt it for further process by RST and final ASC and JAAC adoption. EASA Flight Standards Rulemaking
