Ms. Behrle’s 2nd grade class cbehrle@ems-isd.net Week of September 8-12 • September Expressions schedule • Monday-Fine Arts/Music • Tuesday-PE • Wednesday-Computer • Thursday-PE • Friday-Rotation depending on which Friday of the month it is. • Our library day will be Wednesdays from 2-2:30. This week in class… Math: Counting quantities in more than one way. ELAR: Monitoring comprehension, short “I” and the writing process. Science:Changing properties of matter Social Studies: Timelines Spelling: hit, hike, ripe, rip, dime, large, must, bug, even, such Dictation sentence: I went on a hike and hit a large bug. * GRADES- It is required by the district to have one daily grade taken each week and one assessment grade every other week for each subject. If a student fails an assignment, they may redo it two times to try and pass it, but the highest score they can get is an 80. • Parents! • I have created a facebook page along with my twitter. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ms-Behrles-Second-grade-class/477690862333240 is the link! Go check it out  • Please be checking folders each night. • Homework and spelling words will not be starting for a week or two. Please just have your kiddos reading each night and write the amount of reading minutes per night on the behavior calendar. Initial by it as well, please! • Spelling words and tests are continuing. Pre test is Monday and the post test is Friday. Don’t forget the dictation sentence (capitalization, punctuation and spelling counts!) • PTA meeting Monday 9/8. • School Fundraiser begins! • Class wish list: • 2nd grade level chapter books • Permanent markers • Voliunteers: • I am always in need of helpers! Currently, I am in need of anyone that could help print and put together Reaading A-Z books for our class. If you are interested in being a volunteer for our class, it will be appreciated more than you know!!!
