112 Emergency System in Republic of Bulgaria 112 Emergency System functionality at citizens view point Providing possibility to Bulgarian citizens and foreign visitors to use Police, Fire Brigade, Civil Protection and Health care services by accessing single point of contact (number 112) Legislation • Bulgarian Government issued a Decree №192/09.08.2007,introducing 112 Emergency System. • Decision of Bulgarian Government from October/2007, defining the stages of implementing 112 Emergency System in Republic of Bulgaria • The Law of Electronic Messages handles the requirements to Bulgarian Telecommunication Operators in the process of providing 112 service to citizens. • Planning to prepare a project (within year 2008) for 112 Law, intended to explicitly regulate the process of serving the incidents, registered in 112 Emergency System.
