EXECUTION • Road work- Earthen road • Demarcation for new work by the competent authority . • Alignment- Proper alignment should be given according to the site condition • Initial Level shall be taken. • Curve- Fixing of curves ( Vertical, Horizontal) • Gradient-Proper gradient should be maintained. (Minimum 1:50 for rural road, 1:18 for Ghat) • Camber-Proper camber should be maintained. • Bar chart • Drainage • Compaction should be made by PRR • Side Slope of the formation ( Minimum 1:1 for Cutting ,1:1.5 for fillmg)

  6. Cement Concrete road • It should be inside the habitation. • Excavation of cut off walls including shallow drains if required. • Filling of Sand to have a proper sub base and level with minm. Thickness of 6 inches. • Side Shuttering for cut walls. • Construction/Expansion Joint should be at uniform interval • C.C ( 1:4:8) with 40mm size H.B.G. Metal (Min 4 inch) • C.C (1:2:4) with 12mm size H.B.G chips (Min 3 inch) • Proper camber should be maintained. • Proper curing must be ensured. • Filling of both side flanks should be by earth/ moorum.

  7. W.B.M Road (Grade -I) • Earth work in Flank dressing. • Providing Morrum and sand admixture( 75% morrum and 25 % sand) in sub-base with proper camber and compaction by PRR with watering. • Providing Grade –I metalling with 40mm to 90mm size hard stone metal filling interstices with morrum/ stone screenings and crusher dust. • Proper compaction shall be made by PRR including watering. • Filling of Flanks by Morrum / Excavated earth from the drain. • Proper drainage should be ensured. • Heavy traffic shall not be allowed.

  8. CD WORKS • The CD Works having less than 6 Mtr span is a culvert. • A field visit and reconnaissance survey to be done for finalising the number of CD Works and its position. • To find out the vent size, the bed width of the existing nallah should be taken into consideration. • Emphasis should be given to the U/S and D/S cut off wall of the structure prior to the construction of the apron.

  9. RENOVATION OF TANK • Initial Photograph and initial Level shall be taken before execution. • Assuming a final level, lead & lift and the cost of the quantity shall be calculated depending upon the funds position. • Slope of the Embankment should be maintained at 1.5:1. • Excavation should be done from the middle of portion the tank and the earth should be deposited at the outside slope of the bank. • Provision shall be made to dispose the excess earthwork. • Provision for turffing, slope packing, inlet, outlet and bathing ghat shall be made according to the requirement.

  10. NEW TANK/ MO POKHARI • Demarcation of the area must be done prior to the lay out by the competent revenue authority. • The area excavated/embankment area and the toe line should be marked before execution. • Initial Level must be ensured. • Toe line of the embankment must be 10ft away from the excavation line. • Earth excavated shall be laid in layers of 30cm including breaking clods to 5 cm to 7 cm size. • Provision shall be made to dispose the excess earthwork. • Proper benching of side slope area shall be made. • Provision for turffing, slope packing, inlet, outlet and bathing ghat shall be made according to the requirement.

  11. BUILDING • Construction area must be demarcated before execution of work. • A site plan showing north point should be made. • Initial photographs shall be taken before execution in case of incomp./renovation works. • Drawing showing the plan, elevation and cross section must be approved by the competent authority. • Trial pit section of the soil/soil test report should be obtained. • Design particulars. • Detail specification of the items as per codal provision. • Lay out should be given as per the approved drawing. • In RCC works pre-measurement of steel must be taken and it should be chck measured by the Asst. Engineer before laying of concrete. • Minimum 50 dia of the steel shall be provided in case of lapping. • Minimum cover to the steel should be maintained as per ISI code.

  12. Centering and shuttering must be certified by the Asst. Engineer before pouring of concrete. • Key holes should be provided in between every lift of the column. • In case of masonry walls, joint should be left in stepped manner. • A thin membrane must be provided in between RCC and masonry joints. • Before doing brick masonry, brick should be sub-merged in water for 8 Hrs minimum. • Joints in case of tensile members must be prohibited as far as practicable. • Roof should be casted at a stretch without leaving any joints.
