Winning War Support at Home WWI Propaganda Posters
Liberty Bonds • The first four posters ask Americans to buy Liberty Bonds. Liberty Bonds were loans made by Americans to the US government for funds to fight the war. Over $21,000,000,000 was collected for the war effort through the 4 series of bond sales. The bonds could be ‘sold’ back to the government with interest earned for the purchaser.

Propaganda Aimed at Groups • Propaganda posters also aimed at specific groups of people. By using different characters and different symbols, all individuals were targets of propaganda.
#7 WWI was the first war in which women officially served in the military, in non-combat positions, only. In the Navy, women served as nurses and clerical workers. Women were hired as temporary workers for the army as opposed to being enlisted.
