  17. Topology – Ring • Requires more wiring than bus • Difficult to expand • All computers affected by one break in the ring • Troubleshooting, not too bad with the proper software

  18. Hardware – UPS • Uninterruptible Power Supply • A battery that protects the server and its data files in the event of power loss • Many can be set up to automatically close all files and shutdown properly when detecting power loss
