Warm up • Look at the feedback from last week’s recording. Use the Dictionary link on the kweis.wikispaces.com site to listen to the words that Kristi marked on your paper. Listen to them and repeat. Use Vocaroo to record yourself if you’d like. • OR • Begin typing up or recording your presentation if you have not already.

Unit 8 • #1 Listen and repeat. Use a mirror. • #4 Practice saying these with a partner. Then • listen & check your answers. Repeat the words • you hear. • #5 – Test yourself. • #6 – With a partner, find the odd one out. Listen & check your answers. Now record yourself (and your partner) saying these words in Vocaroo.
Unit 11 • #1 - Listen and repeat. • #2 - Decide which sounds are shown in the pictures. • Practice with the uiowa site and a mirror to check your pronunciation. • #3 – Test yourself. Which sound do you hear? • #4 – With a partner, practice silent pronunciation. • If time allows go back and record yourself (and partner saying the words in #1 on page 25 in Vocaroo or Audio Dropbox.

Presentation • Choose a topic to prepare. • Plan what you are going to say. Write it or type it and give a copy to Kristi. • Practice at home. Record yourself using Vocaroo or another tool (cell phone, voicemail) so you can hear yourself. Listen for stress, rhythm, and vowels. • Record yourself in the most recent Audio Dropbox (Week 10, Week 11, etc.) • After Kristi gives you feedback, repeat steps 3 and 4 from above. • Plan a time to present in front of the class before the end of the semester.
Record Yourself • Move to a computer away from other people. • Log into the computer. • Go to http://kweis.wikispaces.com • Go to Week 11. • Record your presentation. If you don’t have your presentation ready, record yourself telling me what you think you will do for your presentation. • Remember to make sure it recorded and then click the green check mark to send it to me. • If you have extra time you may record a dialog or other practice words from today’s lesson and send it to me for feedback.
Homework • Prepare your presentation on a topic of your choice. • Ideas include: • An interest you have • Your home country • Something related to your work • Your plans for the future • A description of a trip you went on • Something about your family • Plan what you will say so you are ready to practice speaking (and recording) next Saturday (Nov 23)!
