Main Characters • Sir Galahad is the main character, he is a noble knight seeking adventures • Sir Bagdemagus is a knight who tries to take the shield but is proven unworthy because he is speared by an unknown • The White Knight is the knight that kills Bagdemagus and grants Galahad the shield • Sir Melyas is a squire who followed Sir Galahad and Sir Galahad knights him • The Cowardly Knight is a hermit knight who smites Melyas and blesses Sir Galahad • Unknown Damsel tells Sir Galahad he must go to the enchanted ship

3. Chapter Summary • Sir Galahad is granted the shield because he is the noblest knight in all of the land. Sir Galahad grants Sir Melyas his knighthood. They go on an adventure and a pilgrim gives them a choice of going left or right, and right is the end of their journey while left is more of a journey but has hardships. Sir Melyas goes left and comes upon a pavilion. Inside the pavilion, Sir Melyas takes the food and the crown. A skillful hermit jousts Sir Melyas and smites him to the ground. As the hermit is riding off, Sir Galahad comes into the scene and jousts the hermit. Galahad wins and the hermit blesses him on his journey. Then a damsel comes riding in and tells Galahad to go to the enchanted ship and meet other noble knights.
