Organizational Design EssentialsDesign Choices • Bureaucracy-formal authority, fairness and efficiency • Clear division of labour • Formal rules and procedures • Strict hierarchy of authority • Many negative connotations and drawbacks • Old school, has split into two directions in today’s work environment
