Vilnius U contribution to AIDA

Vilnius U contribution to AIDA. E.Gaubas, J.Vaitkus Institute of Applied Research Vilnius University. Radiation monitoring is based on the dependence of free carrier lifetime on the fluence. This dependence was observed in Si from different suppliers and differently grown Si.

  1. Vilnius U contribution to AIDA E.Gaubas, J.Vaitkus Institute of Applied Research Vilnius University E.Gaubas, J.Vaitkus. VU contribution to AIDA, Kick-off meeting, CERN

  2. Radiation monitoring is based on the dependence of free carrier lifetime on the fluence. This dependence was observed in Si from different suppliers and differently grown Si E.Gaubas, J.Vaitkus. VU contribution to AIDA, Kick-off meeting, CERN

  3. The same dependence remains after defect annealing at low T E.Gaubas, J.Vaitkus. VU contribution to AIDA, Kick-off meeting, CERN

  4. 400 ps Microwave probed photoconductivity (MW-PC) transients in MW reflection mode (MWR) The microwave probed photoconductivity (MW-PC) technique is based on the direct measurements of the carrier decay transients by employing MW absorption by excess free carriers. Carriers are photoexcited by 1062 nm light generated by pulsed (500 ps) laser and probed by 22 GHz cw microwave probe. Merits: fast non-invasive technique of rather high sensitivity, variety of measurement regimes Drawbacks: low and moderate excitation levels E.Gaubas, J.Vaitkus. VU contribution to AIDA, Kick-off meeting, CERN

  5. Single mode fiber Needle-tip coaxial MW antenna Si d~300 m Here is presented the device that can work in different regimes: transmission, reflectance and probe Cross-sectional scans within wafer depth Passivation layers Ge Ge Si d d d (IRBI) E.Gaubas, J.Vaitkus. VU contribution to AIDA, Kick-off meeting, CERN

  6. For AIDA purpose: The simplified device has to be fabricated. The samples – fluence detectors has to be Si samples in plastic bags, that allways will be closed (plastic does not influence on the signal and protect Si from the environment) The knowledge of the existing radiation in the control places is necessary. A certain problem could be observed in the areas were gamma and low energy electron radiation is high. E.Gaubas, J.Vaitkus. VU contribution to AIDA, Kick-off meeting, CERN

  7. Thank You for attention!Sorry, due to the virus attack I could not present myself.Hope EVO system will allow to answer the questions. E.Gaubas, J.Vaitkus. VU contribution to AIDA, Kick-off meeting, CERN
