Brno University of Technology • Early History • Founded in 1899 as Czech Technical University in Brno • by a decree of Emperor Franz Joseph I • Before 1914 already had five departments: • - Civil Engineering; • - Mechanical Engineering; • - Electrical Engineering; • - Construction Engineering; • - Chemical Engineering.
Brno University of Technology • Recent History • After 1989 were added the following Faculties: • 1992- Faculty of Business and Management and Faculty of Chemistry; • 1993 - Faculty of Fine Arts; • 2002- Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science was divided into • Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication; and • Faculty of Information Technology.
