WHAT IS LIONS QUEST? IF WE EDUCATE THE CHILD, WE WONT HAVE TO PUNISH THE MAN Pythagoras It is an educational program that seeks to form for life and whose key goal is the development of a positive school environment, making the institution a pleasant place for students and adults, enabling the positive development of children and the prevention efforts.

Curriculum development Goal 1: Feel comfortable and valued as member of the classroom and the school community Goal 2: Utilize interpersonal skills in the relationship with others Goal 3: Learn to make responsible and positive decisions and to say “NO” to the damaging behaviors Goal 4: Acquire the knowledge, the attitudes and necessary behaviors to be healthy and free of drugs Goal 5: Value and respect ourselves and the others

WHAT IS EVALUATED IN THE PROGRAM? 3. School Environment Goal 1: Conformation of the Positive School Environment Committee Goal 2: Development of at least 5 meetings a year. Goal 3: Development of events that fortify the skills learned by the students in the classroom
WHAT IS EVALUATED IN THE PROGRAM? 4. Community participation Goal 1: Assistance to the Positive School Environment Committee Meetings Goal 2: TrainingWorkshops assistance in order to contribute to the work that is been developed in the classroom. Goal 3: Achieve the link with organizations dedicated to drug use and abuse drug control (Police, municipal committees)
WHAT IS EVALUATED IN THE PROGRAM? 5. Training and follow up Goal 1: Active participation in a three day Workshop to acquire the experience of the material management of the program and the implementation approach. Goal 2: Execution of complementary activities in the school from the Lions Club that sponsors the program Goal 3: The Lions Club are in charge of hiring experienced personnel for the Evaluation
LIONS QUEST PROGRAM – SKILLS FOR GROWING RESULTS 2004 • 100% Significant changes on the students. • 84.61% development of the program within the cronogram • 100% of the students think it is important for life, they would like to have the program ongoing and they are interested in the moral value construction. • 80.76% of the schools have gathered together meetings with parents with highly positive results. • 80.76% of the schools develop the program as an independent area (Ethics, Values and Religious Edcuation) • 80.76% commitment on behalf of the teachers. • 100% of the institutions have implemented the program trasnversally and are satisfied with the results. • 100% the program design • 100% of the coordinators highlight the coherence and strength that the program has given to the education plans.
