THE SILANG REVOLT • led by Diego Silang • When Diego died his wife Gabriella Silang
The Silang Revolt was made because Silang believed that the leaders of the country and of his land should be trained Filipinos not Spaniards
Another cause would be grievance because of Taxation and Abuses • Diego and Gabriela Silang also joined forces with the British forces to defeat the Spaniards
Gabriella Silang was later on called Ilcos’s Joan of Arc because of her willpower and power in fighting
Silang was killed on May 28, 1763 by Miguel Vicos, a friend of Silang. The Spanish authorities paid for his murder, leading to his death in the arms of his wife, Gabriela.
Eventually, the revolt ended with the defeat of the Ilocanos. Gabriela Silang was executed by Spanish authorities in Vigan on September 10, 1763.
The Tamblot revoltstarted because of a babaylan or a native priest in Bohol who called on the Boholanos to help him fight against paying dues to the government and the Catholic church THE TAMBLOT REVOLT
It was a battle of around 2000 men • The men followed Tamblot because of the RICE AND WINE CHALLENGE • And as expected the Tamblot uprisingfailed because the Spanish were too powerful
THE DAGOHOY REVOLT • The longest revolt against the spaniards [1744-1829 bohol roughly 85 years] • Led by Francisco Dagohoy • This revolt was caused by: forced labor , Spanish oppression , Bandalaabuse of taxes and tributes
But what got Dagohoy really mad was the refusal of the Jesuits to give his brother a Christian burial [his brother died while serving the Spaniards • This made him call his Boholano brothers and fight the Spaniards
THE TAPAR REVOLT • A person known as Tapar created a new religion the Spaniards although rejected it even if it was based on CHRISTIANITY
Because of this rejection Tapar and his men raidedthe church in the middle of the city • The Spaniards of course suppressed them and stopped them • This revolution was in 1663
THE ERMANO APOLINARIO DE LA CRUZ REVOLT • Lead by Hermano Apolinariode la Cruz or Hermano Pule • First religious uprising of the Tagalogs • Pule dreamed of becoming a priest so he organized Cofradia de San Jose
He recruited some priests and some followers • But he was continuously harassed and annoyed by the Spaniards so he lead this uprising against the Spaniards • But he was captured a day after winning his fight
